Do Not Block Mercy

Edom was condemned for standing at the crossroads to cut off fugitives in their day of distress. God sees not only violence, but also the cruelty of refusing mercy when others are vulnerable. We are called to be helpers, not hinderers, in another’s hardship. When someone is escaping sorrow, shame, or danger, do not block the way. Become a signpost of compassion and refuge.
