Pride Cannot Stand

Teman’s mighty men would be dismayed, and the mount of Esau cut off. Obadiah speaks judgment against proud confidence, especially when strength is used without righteousness. Human power, wisdom, and alliances cannot protect a people who oppose God’s justice. The verse calls us to examine where we trust in our own security. True refuge is not found in strength alone, but in humility before the Lord who rules over nations.
