When Honor Is Lost

Lamentations describes a people scattered under the Lord’s anger, marked by a failure to honor priests and elders. Their social collapse revealed a deeper spiritual disorder. When reverence for God fades, respect for others often follows. This verse soberly teaches that contempt can become judgment. Yet it also calls us back to humility: honor what God honors, listen to wisdom, and seek mercy before hardness divides and destroys.
