Beauty Lost in Brokenness

Lamentations remembers the former purity and beauty of Jerusalem’s devoted ones, comparing them to snow, milk, rubies, and sapphire. The image deepens the sorrow of what sin and judgment have brought. It teaches us to grieve what is lost when holiness is forsaken. Yet even lament can become prayer. Ask God to restore what has been stained, renew devotion, and make His people beautiful again through repentance and mercy.
