Confidence in the Lord

Paul’s confidence in the Thessalonians was not rooted merely in their strength, but “in the Lord.” He trusted that God would enable them to continue obeying apostolic instruction. Christian perseverance is both commanded and empowered. We are called to faithful action, yet our hope rests in the Lord’s sustaining grace. Encourage others this way: not with flattery, but with confidence that God can help them do what He commands.
