Strength That Cannot Save

Nahum recalls the powerful allies of a great city: Ethiopia, Egypt, Put, and Lubim. Their strength seemed vast, yet it could not prevent judgment. Human alliances, resources, and influence may appear secure, but none can replace righteousness before God. This verse gently asks where we place our confidence. Helpers have limits, but the Lord does not. Build your hope on Him, not on the impressive supports that can fail.
