Reject the Way of Cain

Cain’s hatred exposed the darkness within him. Rather than repent when confronted by righteousness, he destroyed his brother. John warns believers not to follow that spirit of envy, resentment, and violence. Righteous living may provoke opposition, but we must not answer with bitterness. Christ calls us into love, confession, and humility. When another’s faithfulness reveals our need, let it lead us to repentance, not anger.
