Waiting With a Hard Heart

Jonah sits outside the city, watching to see what will happen. Though God had shown mercy, Jonah still hoped for judgment. His booth offered shade, but his heart lacked compassion. This verse invites us to examine whether we rejoice when God spares those we resent. The Lord may lead us outside our anger and into His wider mercy, teaching us to love what He loves.
