A Priest Appointed for People

The high priest was chosen from among men to serve people before God, offering gifts and sacrifices for sins. This points to God’s mercy in providing mediation for guilty humanity. We need more than good intentions; we need someone to stand before God on our behalf. Hebrews ultimately leads us to Christ, the perfect High Priest, who understands our weakness and brings us near through His once-for-all sacrifice.
