The Stone Rolled Away

Matthew describes a great earthquake as the angel of the Lord rolled back the stone and sat upon it. The resurrection was not quiet defeat reversed, but heaven’s declaration that death had lost. The stone was not moved so Jesus could escape, but so witnesses could see the empty tomb. Whatever seems sealed beyond hope, God is able to overturn. Christ is risen, and His victory still shakes the world.
