Hemmed In by Sorrow

Lamentations gives honest language to deep affliction. The sufferer feels surrounded, as though bitterness and hardship have been built up on every side. Scripture does not shame such cries; it gives them a place before God. When sorrow feels enclosing, we can still bring our pain to the Lord. He hears lament, sits with the brokenhearted, and can lead us through the walls we cannot move ourselves.
