Elijah’s prayer in 1 Kings 18:36 is centered on God’s glory, not his own reputation. He asks that all may know the Lord is God and that he has acted only at God’s word. True service begins there: listening, obeying, and pointing others to Him. When we act in faith, our greatest desire should be that God is made known.
