A Table in Trouble

David pictures God’s care as a prepared table, even while enemies remain nearby. The Shepherd does not always remove every threat before He blesses His people. He provides, honors, heals, and overflows the cup in the very place of pressure. This verse teaches us to look for God’s abundance not only after the battle, but in the midst of it.
