Sound the Holy Alarm

Joel calls for a trumpet in Zion and an alarm on God’s holy mountain, because the day of the Lord is near. This is not empty fear, but a summons to awaken. God’s warnings are merciful; they invite repentance before judgment. When Scripture sounds the alarm, we should not harden our hearts. Trembling before the Lord can become the beginning of wisdom, humility, and renewed devotion.
