Jesus Commands Unclean Powers

The unclean spirit resisted violently, yet it had to come out at Jesus’ command. Evil may rage, disturb, and cry loudly, but it is not equal to the authority of Christ. This verse strengthens our confidence in the Lord’s power to deliver. When darkness seems fierce, we remember that Jesus speaks with sovereign authority, and no bondage is beyond His ability to break.
