Holy Nearness and Reverence

Leviticus speaks of limits placed on priestly approach because God’s sanctuary was holy. These laws remind us that worship is not casual self-expression but reverent nearness to the God who sanctifies. Under the old covenant, blemish restricted access; in Christ, our Great High Priest brings us near by His perfection. We do not approach God carelessly, but gratefully, honoring the holiness of the One who makes His people clean.
