Bondage and Freedom

Paul uses Hagar and Mount Sinai to picture bondage under the law apart from grace. Religion without Christ can become a burden, producing fear rather than freedom. God does not call His children to live as slaves trying to earn acceptance, but as those set free through His promise. This verse invites us to examine our hearts and rejoice that in Christ we are brought into liberty.
