Schemes Last Only a Time

Daniel describes a ruler who gains influence through peaceable entry, wealth, strategy, and calculated schemes. Power can appear impressive when it distributes rewards and plans against strongholds. Yet the verse quietly limits him: even for a time. Human cunning is never eternal. God sees every device and sets boundaries around evil. We can remain watchful without despair, trusting that no earthly power outruns the sovereign hand of God.
