The Poor Have Refuge

Psalm 14:6 confronts those who shame the counsel of the poor, forgetting that the Lord is their refuge. Poverty does not make a person foolish or forsaken. God sees the vulnerable and shelters those who trust Him. This verse warns against pride and contempt, and it invites compassion. When others are dismissed, remember God’s nearness to them. Honor the poor, listen with humility, and reflect the refuge of the Lord.
