Near The Place Of Sorrow

Bethany was close to Jerusalem, and that small detail sets the stage for Jesus entering a place of grief near the center of religious power. God often works in ordinary locations and real distances, drawing near to families, tears, and tombs. No sorrow is too small or too local for Christ’s attention. He comes close, not as a distant observer, but as the Resurrection and the Life.
