Names Before God

Second Samuel 5:15 lists names that may seem easy to pass over: Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, and Japhia. Yet Scripture’s records remind us that lives and families matter in God’s unfolding story. Not every name receives a long description, but none are meaningless to the Lord. In passages like this, we learn reverence for God’s attention to generations. He sees individuals, remembers households, and works through histories we may barely notice.
