Suffer for Righteousness

Peter makes an important distinction: not all suffering is noble. Believers should never suffer because of murder, theft, wrongdoing, or meddling in matters that are not ours. The call of Christ is not an excuse for foolishness or sin. We are to live cleanly, humbly, and honorably. If hardship comes, let it be because we belong to Jesus, not because we have harmed others or refused wisdom.
