When Comfort Delays Obedience

The beloved hesitates, already undressed and washed, reluctant to rise and respond. The verse gives a picture of how comfort can make the heart slow to welcome love’s call. We may delay obedience because it feels inconvenient, disruptive, or costly. Yet spiritual intimacy often requires readiness. When the Lord draws near, may we not let ease keep us from opening to Him.
