Scorn Cannot Silence Faith

The psalmist describes the pain of public shame: laughter, mocking lips, and shaking heads. Such scorn wounds deeply, yet this verse also points us toward the suffering of Christ, who endured rejection with faithful trust. When others misunderstand or ridicule us, God sees what mockers ignore. He is near to the despised, and He will not let contempt have the final word.
