When Godly Voices Are Gone

Samuel was dead, Israel had mourned, and Saul had removed occult practices from the land. Yet the absence of a faithful prophet would soon reveal the weakness of Saul’s heart. This verse reminds us to value godly counsel while we have it and to seek the Lord sincerely, not merely outward reform. Religious actions cannot replace a listening, obedient heart before God.
