Taking Sin Seriously

John plainly states that all unrighteousness is sin, teaching us not to minimize what opposes God’s holy character. Yet he also distinguishes sin not unto death, reminding us to think carefully, pray earnestly, and seek restoration for others. This verse calls believers to moral seriousness without despair. We confess sin honestly, intercede for one another, and trust the mercy of God revealed through Jesus Christ.
